Yes, but there are no bins in the loos where I work.
In any case I have never ever put bogroll in a bin. I'm pretty cool with poop but that practice is just too gross to contemplate. It always seems to be the hottest, most fly ridden countries as well.0 -

You really should do it in countries where you're expected to, otherwise you're likely to cause problems with the plumbing and drains, and it won't be you who has to deal with it!0 -

I suppose were I ever to find myself in a country where the plumbing couldn't cope with toilet paper then I would follow any instructions given. However to me it just sounds horrible. :eek:Lost my soulmate so life is empty.

We went to Corfu a couple of years ago and I kept forgetting to put the paper in the bin :-(
I did actually flush a couple of times by habit and then got really worried and mortified that I would block the plumbing in the rather lovely place we stayed in. (I was planning on blaming the children shhh)£608.98

I had to do it in Greece about 15 years ago. Thankfully anywhere weve stayed there since hasnt asked us to do it, I guess they were newer hotels. It is pretty gross I feel sorry for the maids cleaning the rooms.
In Asia those water things are awful because what you end up with is a soaking wet floor covered in water and god knows what - and because theyre typically hot countries youve got flip flops/sandals on..0 -

Ever out a tampon in a sanitary bin, or a used nappy in a wheelie bin?
Not massively different.0 -

Sanitary items go in a bag first though and I presume nappies are the same.Lost my soulmate so life is empty.

If they have a bidet/afdebet, then you are essentially getting rid of ALL the nasty stuff (if you are thorough like me:o) before the next stage - the paper, which is only used to dry you.
The other good thing, is that you can give the bowl (if required) a quick spray after, to leave it nice and clean for the next person.:)0 -

Nothing to stop you putting the used paper in a bag.
It would be a shame to miss travelling to some wonderful countries just because of this hang up£608.98

It's not a hang up. Just seems strange as it's not something I'm used to. Presumably people from some countries find it strange to flush the paper. If I wanted to go abroad something like this would be a minor point and not worthy of changing my mind.Lost my soulmate so life is empty.
