Corgi Home Plan
Do not be tricked by their cheap offers. They are crap! A bunch of charlatans Can anyone please advise on the best way to see this complaint through???
Please read:
This is a full and proper complaint. I intend to see this through to the appropriate ombudsman.
Although it is worth paying the cancellation fee to free of the corgi plan I feel from a point of principle to see this through.
Firstly the plumber that visited was a liar. He deliberately misled my wife and my mother with regards to his intention and the nature of the problem. He advised them that the job would be repaired and the he need to book more time from the office. This clearly was not his intention. Secondly he had no permission to take pictures and my family report that he was rude. He clearly took advantage of the situation that involved a young mother and an elderly person. His demeanour was obtrusive, rude and deceiving.
Moreover to suggest that the problem was on going was ridiculous. I had cover from the 8th January 2013. Prior to that I had cover from British Gas. My parents live alone in this house, is the suggestion that I allowed pensioners to suffer the cold weather?
I sought a second opinion privately and he explained in detail that the leak was due to deterioration of a washer with the copper piping. He also added that the cold snap was another likely contributing factor. Further he ridiculed the suggestion that the copper piping was mended temporarily by silicone gel. I would like to have a detailed explanation and view the evidence that the (1) silicone was applied to conceal or repair a break in the piping (2) that the silicone was applied recently (3) corroborating evidence to sow that the leak was old (i.e. not a new problem).
I have statements from both my wife and my mother who witnessed the plumber. Further I intend to obtain a statement from the plumber who repaired the work.
I have found Corgi call handlers useless and unprofessional. Corgi is clearly interested in cheating people out of money and offering a dishonest service. You are a bunch of cowboys!
I have blogged about your service on MoneySavingExpert.com and I will refer this case with my evidence to the relevant ombudsman. Further I intend to take this matter to the smalls claim court as this was work that was covered by the agreement but Corgi and its associated were just too bone idle and greedy to undertake.

I'm afraid that there isn't an 'Ombudsman' for Corgi.
Unlike your Gas & Electicity supplier, they fall into the same catagory as your local garage and a firm that mends your roof.
"Corgi" was the organisiation who controlled training and the standards of Gas installation & repair tradesman, but when they rescinded the title in favour of Gas safe, the name was taken up by a commercial organisation.
Your points of redress now beyond Corgi themselves, would be local Trading Standards Office & the Small Claims Court - There just might be the name/logo of a Trade Organisation on the paperwork - If so have a word with them0 -
I always throw their "offers" straight in the bin.
Nice to know that I made the right choice.
I wish you the best of luck in getting it sorted out to your satisfaction.0 -
ok before you go down the route of going nowhere, i'm not sure how you managed to get someone out anyway because you aren't entitled to a call out within the first 30 days, your policy will also state that you are only entitled to a max of £300 worth of repairs for the first 90 days, the engineer would have been asked to check if your prob was there before you took out the policy, why are you complaining that the engineer took pics surely if your claim was justified then this would prove your point, any silicon takes 24 hrs to fully set & if was already set then the engineer didn't "put" it on there to try & get out of the repair, he would have been paid for the repair so he had no reason to try & make out it was already there.I'm only here while I wait for Corrie to start.
You get no BS from me & if I think you are wrong I WILL tell you.0 -
I've read this through 3 times and still got no idea what the problem is.0

the OP is moaning that he paid one months premiums £14 & they didn't fix the problem because it was deemed to have been there when they took out the cover, now they want to take it to the court of european rights, i mean get a gripI'm only here while I wait for Corrie to start.
