Renault Megane II or Scenic II - elec window problems - Renault help pay
The drivers elec window on my 57 plate Megane just stopped opening, all other windows working fine. After having trawled the web I found this was a common problem (any window). The Renault website directed me to contact a dealer for a discounted repair. I phoned the nearest garage and they told me Renault pay 70% of the cost regardless of the age or mileage, this includes changing any required parts including motor if necessary. Expected cost about max £120 for a 2hr job including parts, labour and VAT. Pass this onto anyone you know with one of these cars that is having elec window problems.

Go visit the Megane II owners forum. The reason why this happens is that the doors are not very water tight. If you get repaired and the cause of the water leak is not fixed then there is a probability of it going again.
Our Megane has two back windows which do the same, with kids and aircon I decided not to get repaired. I would repair front windows though.

Its almost invariably the electric window module at fault.
Replacements can now be bought off ebay for £19.99

Any electrically minded mechanic will be able to replace this for you in about an hour.
I'd a Scenic traded in with all four windows faulty - one was a lose wire, the other three were the modules - had all fixed for £120 all in. Even under Renaults subsidised scheme they'd have charged £360 and probably £120 for the fourth one with the lose wire.0 -
Thanks for the link, my front driver window isn't working. Cheapest quote was £160! Was going to leave it, but will hoe much it'll be to fit that.0
