Couple more questions ahead of BR Day tomorrow..

Hi all,

We have BR appointment tomorrow at 9am...

1. I have withdrawn cash for petrol and groceries for next 2 weeks - how will we know if bank account has been frozen? I swapped wages etc to go into new basic barclays account.
Left bank balance as blank for now on forms, will do this once I check balance in the morning.

If account is frozen - can DD's still be paid as dont want to get bank charges.

2. Roughly how long will we be in court?

3. Is OR likely to contact us on same day to book interview?

Have come down with a rotten cold - sure its the underlying worry :(

Thanks in advance for any replies.

    1. If the Barclays, it shouldn't be. If another, then just assume it will. bank may tell you or may not.

    2. Could be 20 mins. Could be a few hours. Depends how long you have to wait. Judge signing off the BR takes just mins. Resting is waiting for that to happen and BR order to be printed.

    3. They could do. Or may just speak with you briefly and say they will write with a time. Depends on the OR and how busy they are.

Sorry I can't be more precise, but it juts depends on the day, the court and the OR so much. What you can say is that it will be fine. :)

Will be thinking of you tomorrow Lisa and let us know how you get on.

My tongue in cheek checklist, what to take to court :-

    - Your two copies of 6.27 and 6.28 and the Originals, do not sign them, you do this in front of the clerk. Your completed EX160 if applicable and any benefit letters/forms etc as proof.

    - Money for bankruptcy fees.

    - Spare change for coffee machine.

    - Paper or magazine to read while waiting.

    - Change for car park.

    - Optional a friend to chat to/hold hand.

    Best wishes

I've never heard of a Barclays basic ever being frozen Lisa.

    Thinking of you today.

Just wanted to wish you luck Lisa, I know how you are feeling so will be thinking of you today.

Our OR rang same day and booked full telephone interview for the week after I think, each case is different so its hard to say. Our BR friendly account wasnt frozen and the banking side has run smoothly ever since.

Its not an easy process to go through but you will feel better and rebuild things over time. For some of us its a needs must situation and is far better in the end than where we were before. Keep us posted, I check in on and off to see how folks are doing. Good luck to you both. x

Hi everyone and thank you for the msgs of support.

Things were fine today, we got there a little early so were first to pay fees and hand over our forms. Once paid fee and had the forms checked, took files to Court Usher and asked to take a seat to wait for the judge. The court was really busy and we were waiting for approx 2 hours. Court Usher then returned with our files and said Judge was busy so did what was needed to be done.

Went back up to the desk where we paid fee and were told they were very busy so would post our BR orders later today and OR will be in touch soon... and that was it!

Was exhausted when got home, just woke up after 2 hours of sleep this afternoon.. think I had built myself up and was drained after!

Glad that part is over.. just the OR interview to get through now.... does anyone know the latest they book appointments for as my husbands will need to be out of work hours as he cant take any time off now till April.

    Thanks again :)

Ps. how will I know if my bank account is frozen, is it ok to try my card??

If bank accounts are frozen it takes several days or a couple of weeks for the messages to get through to the bank and for the bank to decide to freeze them but as said before, highly highly unlikely for a basic account to be frozen.

My proper full OR interview was one month after BR, but the OR phoned a couple of days after BR to book that time/appointment and to make sure I was ok for money and had I any questions etc. So I had almost a months notice of the main appointment time.

Well done on getting through today, I remember the emotional drainage feeling!
