Good luck and best wishes for a new start.

Courses sound good. Don't forget to jot down what you've learnt from your old job so you can update your CV.

See if your local town has a job club, not run by the jobcentre, just a place where folks can get online, talk to each other, maybe get some advice.
:heartsmil When you find people who not only tolerate your quirks but celebrate them with glad cries of "Me too!" be sure to cherish them. Because these weirdos are your true family.

Don't forget to use punctuation when writing application letters though. Your opening post made my head spin.

Just checking you got 7 weeks notice and when was 8 years service?
  • Hi yes i got 7 years notice 2 half a week and the rest full week which they are paying me because they didn't want me to work. I also have the redundancy pay. Not very happy they said i was going to get my letter about it last week called up Tuesday they said sorry will sent it out that day first class still nothing. They are ment to be paying me everything on the last Friday of this month and sending out my P45 that day not holding my breath on the P45. Still not even a interview on the job front i really dont understand everyone says my CV looks really good i had loads of Responsibilities at my work from warehousing, customer service, order processing and returns, ordering and stock take also updating the website. I fill like i'm banging my head against a wall :( sorry to moan guys.

Then definitely use the time to do a Literacy Course - many now have specialist Dyslexia tutors, with results that can be used beyond the course and in life.

ring your local college, local authority and ask about what provision they have between now and end of year, some have courses not advertised on website or in prospectus etc.

And look at the Open University too.

    Good luck.
  • still no letter was told i was being made redundant on the 25th and told to go home. went in for the meeting following Monday offered 3 hours a day i said no, they said they would send my letter out explaining everything. i was told i would be getting it that week. called up on Tuesday 1st as still no letter was told very sorry will send it out today 1st class, still nothing called today they haven't sent, it i said i would come get it they said no save your petrol will email it over and send in post. what do i do if its still not here Friday should i get a working rights laywer are they breaking any laws?.
  • Update and register your CV on all sites eg.CV Library,Total Jobs,Jobsite etc and also Recruitment Agencies and you can also search companies online and drop them a line attaching your CV,you never know?
    Good luck.
Money does not bring happiness...but if you are already happy it does bloody help! :rotfl:
