Student Bank Account

Morning all,
Can I ask your advice? My wife is returning to full-time higher education in September. She's done a degree before, so she isn't entitled to a student loan (!). But a lot of the banks seem to make it a condition of your student bank account.
Which is the best for her to go for, bearing this in mind? I suppose it's possible that the accounts she has already (Lloyds, A&L) will be as good, but it seems a shame to miss out on an interest-free overdraft and other perks.........
Ta very much

A student account is just a current account, so banks require that regular payments go in. This is usually a student loan but it can be anything, such as wages. If she's happy with her accounts at the moment, why doesn't she just get one of them changed to a student account?0

She's not particularly happy with her current accounts at the moment (can you tell me someone who is?) and most banks specifically state that the payment should be the Student loan.0

Shouldn't have to be, as long as you can prove you're in full-time education and have regular payments going in then I doubt there will be a problem (hasn't been for me in the past).0

When I applied for a student account really recently I went to Barclays and all they asked for was a ucas letter and the usual id, and it was fine...they didnt ask me for proof of student loan, and they just assumed that the money i'd be getting in there is just my part time job money, and possibly a loan0
