Nothing to declare yet, but have managed to paint my nails twice last week (and resisted the Leighton Denny TSV - in truth only the blue one tempted me), Tuesday used China Glaze Dress Me Up, a warm caramel cream, and yesterday Nails Inc Little Portland Street, a slightly glittery bright pink from the Fine Sprinkles Collection. Have a lovely Sunday everyone, not sure whether to get myself into gear and go and visit Mum, or just make some yummy baked goodies.
Rosemary - do hope the dinner party went well, food sounded yummy. Are your damaged nails starting to grow out?
we had a great time thanks ate and drank far too much:rotfl:the men managed two lots of cassolet!!!!!sadly nails are still awful and another started flaking last night am so fed up as they were lovely at Christmas:(think i will start to use life jacket again but don't like the rough feel of it much.i want to have shellac again but they need to grow first and will ask the beauty therapist to not use orange stick to scratch it off as am sure that is where the problem arose:(:(:(0 -

Here's a list of companies and whether they test on animals, and if they do, why. P&G do say they meet all the regulations for humane treatment of the animals, hopefully that's true, HTH.

I understand that the detail is in the wording and can often be misleading, it is pretty complicated.
Here are two more sites that give information for companies that Do not test or use ingredients that have been tested since an agreed cut off date, the one seems to be mainly for US companies.
http://www.mediapeta.com/peta/PDF/companiesdonttest.pdf
http://www.leapingbunny.org/images/cciclist.pdf
This is from the Peta website re: Proctor and Gamble and others
A handful of companies – such as Procter & Gamble and Unilever – admit that they test on animals, but most of the others either dodge the issue with fancy wording or just won't say. Beware of claims like "this product is not tested on animals", which can hide the fact that ingredients are tested on animals, or "this company does not test on animals", which may mean the company contracts out its testing to other companies.
There are too many companies making cosmetics, toiletries and household products to keep track of each one's involvement in animal testing, but unless a company has a policy in place about the ingredients it uses, it is very likely that the ingredients it buys will have been tested on animals. That's why it's so important that caring consumers use their purchasing power to support companies that have strong, progressive policies which stop animal testing now and which will continue to prevent it in the future. PETA approval tells you which companies those are.
New companies are added to the cruelty-free list all the time. Some brand-new companies or very small ones may have good policies, but they might not be approved by the HCS or HHPS yet. Not every company which isn't approved by PETA will do animal testing or buy animal-tested ingredients – but only those listed here are guaranteed to be 100 per cent cruelty-free.
Not wanting to make your eyes glaze over, but any company that exports to China is aware that is law that all cosmetic products must be tested on animals, so even if they carry out NO testing themselves they are agreeing that it will be done in China, I am not aware who will finance this.
...and thank you too! :ACookie, I think you're tame. :heart2:

Oh dear, not off to a good start this month. Have the following INS:
2. Nivea Daily Essentials Eye make up remover 125ml
3. VO5 Beyond Blonde Conditioner 500ml
4. L'oreal Elvive Highlights Conditioner 400ml
5. Balmi Blackcurrant Lip Balm
6. Lush Charity Pot Hand & Body Lotion 10g
7. Lush Karma Bubble Bar
8. Lush The Comforter Bubble Bar
I did need no 2 and 3/4 as the ones I already am using have nearly run out. I would normally have only bought one conditioner but the L'oreal was on offer in Mr T's and I had 50p off the VO5. Won't need to buy any conditioner for a while anyway.
I have also had some more OUTS in the form of GA's in the swap. Gave away 11 items so am now up to 14 OUTS and 9 INS. Have some other things that look like they will be OUTS shortly.
I bought some make up and nail varnish recently too but have not added them to my list yet as have not yet counted up my make up and nail varnish stash :eek:0 -
OUTs! I listed a little lot on Ebay so...
8 - body shop eyeliner in french navy. WNB as I don't suit blue around my eyes.
9 - l'occitane shea hand cream, half . WBA but I have 2 in stash!
10 - l'occitane divine cream. WNB as it's too heavy for me.
11 - clinique half size mascara. WBA but I have more mascaras in stash (a common theme)
...and...12 - I added a freebie in, some lippy from batiste. Odd, but yes, from batiste. Looks like a nice colour but I've added it in as a extra (not listed on ebay with the lot but will arrive in the parcel as a surprise).Cookie, I think you're tame. :heart2:

Hello everyone! So much to catch up on which is great and this month I will be posting more as I won't be working away - I hope!
I wasn't as bad as I could have been last month as most of my INS were needed replacements. I had to go to Boots twice which I wanted to avoid to buy OH nicotine patches and both times picked up the Lancome Doll Eyes mascaras as it was two full size ones for £30 but keeping the challenge in mind I managed to resist temptation especially as it's been another expensive month for us.
Got a few more full size splutterers and had to cut some tubes open today so hopefully I'll be posting some much needed OUTS soon.
Really glad things have been looking up for people who have had a hard time recently too. Happy pamperingSaving for our wedding July 2013!0 -
Hello I'm joining the challenge a few days late! I threw some hand cream out yesterday (Soap and Glory Hand Food) as the smell had gone all play doughy and the texture was watery (TA). I used to love this product and kept repurchasing but I just find it goes off too fast (WNBA). I opened my last one and will be using up as fast as possible! I've also used up the last of my cleanser (Body Shop Cucumber) (UU) and would repurchase - it's cheap and cheerful! I've opened up my Decleor that I was 'saving for special' (PRCP) and I love it - very expensive but my skin seems to look a bit nicer looking already! Having a big clear out today and may find some other things to get rid of
Have had a look at the site where you can send items to refuges and think it's an amazing idea!

52 week challenge
£2015 in 20150 -
2 INS today - but they were necessary/i had no more in my stash!
1 - Right guard for men deodrant (sport) - OH found his current spray (sure) has stopped working, and he's fed up of stinking up the pub he works in - :rotfl: So he was in need of this, for all of our sakes!
2 - Johnson's baby bedtime lotion - I was in poundland and saw this earlier. It's only 300ml but i paid £1.70 for it in Mr Ts last week on offer! It's the slightly more expensive baby stuff they do, and my son loves being rubbed with it after his bath, and it makes my hands smell lovely! So it's one for the stash but he only has 1 bottle which is in use
Hope everyone's having a lazy sunday!0 -
OMG just started doing an inventory - it really puts you off buying more. I'm pretty restrained on face stuff. I have a nail polish and some scents to GA to my work colleague! I have about 45 full size nail polishes plus nail pens and minis. I have about 13 full size avon perfumes and 5 handbag sprays!
I haven't even started on hair, hand, feet, shower and bath stuff!! I am such a hoarder.0
