Hi guys just wondering if anyone knows how accurate the online calculator actually is ?
It appears to look the part however im not sure how accurate it actually is.

The disregards are out of date, they've not updated with the amounts announced in the Autumn statement, which in some cases are significantly different to the amounts proposed in the briefing notes.
They're using the old values here: http://www.dwp.gov.uk/docs/ucpbn-14-disregards-tapers.pdf
which have been replaced with the values here: http://cdn.hm-treasury.gov.uk/as2012_policy_costings.pdf (p.49)
As you can see there are major changes, some up, most of them down. Particularly couples with no kids - max disregard was £3000, now £1330.0
