3rd Time Lucky, I will keep this up

Well as the title says this is my 3rd attempt at a Diary.

I need to keep it up as I find it helps me keep motivated and makes me more organised.

So a bit about me.

Married with 2 kids and was made redundant November last year.

Had debt a few years back but have almost paid these off. Only a few small debts to pay and are all on 0% interest.

We can live on OH salary but only just. No room for luxuries though.

I am job hunting but since my last job left me stressed with the hours and people I am going to be taking my time to find hours that suit me. Of course because of this I can't claim JSA as I am not able to agree to looking for a job over 90 min commute away or for 40hrs.

And just to add more difficulties I have fibromyalgia :(

Of course if we need me to I would accept any job and hours but at the moment if we are careful I should be able give myself a good few months to find a job.

So with tomorrow being 1st February I thought this was an ideal time to start again.

  • Right I need a plan to keep on track.

I have put £100 on Gas/Elec meters (£50 each) yesterday. Will check the balances every few days.

Take £250 out in cash for food shopping - Currently going through the cheap family recipes website to see if I can do it for far less.

Take £180 out in cash for petrol. This is for 2 cars but as I don't really need to use mine every day I am hoping to do this for less.

    Meal Plan

Do a food shop tomorrow and remember to take my list with me ;)

    Best of luck TTL.

I must be tough with the fibro. Sounds like a great plan taking some time out to find something that's right for you.

  • Thanks kissjen. Having fibro make things a bit harder more so the fact I get so tired at times.

Anyway since I am not doing a shop till tomorrow we are a bit low on food so I had to rummage around the freezer but dinner has been made but some had lasagne and others pie, custard and fruit for desert.

I have also made a victoria sponge cake so wont need to nip to the shop later when I am craving something lovely.

Now I am knackered so lazy night tonight.

  • Thanks beanielou.

Well today I have done the food shop between Mr A , Mr L & F. Took my £250 cash out.

Spent £38 in Mr A, £45 in Mr L and £7.80 in FF. Freezer, fridge and cupboards are full :) Had to take my DH as my fibro playing up today so would struggle with the heavy bags.

I have also today applied for a job in a local school, hours are great and it is a job I have some experience in so keeping my fingers crossed. Spent a good while on the application and I am very happy with it.

    So a good day I think :T

  • Plan for today is to scrub and sort the kitchen from top to bottom.

House is getting in a bit of a state again and it shouldn't really as I am at home all the time for now.

OH has taken the kids out as its dry.

Will make a pot of soup today and dinner will be gammon, mash potatoes and veg.

Will check the gas/elec meters as well.

  • Soup is made.

Decided against doing the kitchen as the upstairs was just  so tackling that instead.

OH is back with the kids. He took £20 out of the bank  but only spent about £5 so has change. Now the challenge is to make sure he doesn't waste the change.

Heating is off :Tas although it's cold outside the sun is shinning through the back windows and keeping the house warm.

I've stripped my bed but accidently put the washing setting to the long wash instead of the quick wash i always wash. Washing has been on for over an hour just wish it would hurry up an finish. So I can get more on.

  • Been a busy day so far.

2 Washings on so far. 4 diff lunches made as no one wanted to same thing:cool:

I have glossed 2 radiators and the stair banister as they were not looking their best and it was annoying me everytime I past them. had gloss and a brush in the cupboard so didn't cost me anything :j:j

Got an ironing to do and need to get the kids sorted for school tomorrow.

HM Soup, roast chicken and custurd for desert.

Then kids will be bathed then I will sit with a Pimms and relax.

Will be a NSD today my first this month :j:j:j:j:j:j:j

  • What a horrible day weather wise.

Didn't have a NSD. I got a text last night to say a friend had got engaged so I went out and got an engagment present for them as I will be seeing my friend later on in the week. So £30 spent on that plus £1.50 on car parking.

Dinner is breaded chicken, chips and beans. something simple tonight cause I am in a CBA mood today.

Have been freezing all day so heating has been on all day

  • Woke up to snow this morning :( but thankfully it seems to be clearing as we have had some rain.

Absolutley freezing I have the heating on and the electric fire.

I wizzed round the house and mopped and hoovered floors and gave the place a dust so everything looks tidy.

Spent £6 in FF and £2.99 in Lidl.

Dinner will be mince and potatoes and I will make a Lasagne with the mince that will be left to do tomorrow night as out with a friend tomorrow so need to be organised.
