What to look for in a new dishwasher!

Economy 7 tarriff hot water, unfortunatly most dishwashers are cold fill only (1 pipe) The old appliances (10/20 years ago had both)

Our dishwasher (Ten years old now) only has a cold fill, but I connected it to the hot water supply. No problems so far.I used to be indecisive but now I am not sure.0 -
I would second that - brilliant machine, and brilliant idea for the cutlery. Means you can get masses in and it's oh, so quiet!
Long guarantee too (depending on what offers etc are on)

3rd vote for a Meile here too, because there is a cutlery tray there is much more room on the bottom tray for big pots and the second tray has adjustable heights too. Never had anything come out gunky like it did with our old Indesit :T0 -
The best one I had was Indesit but that was bought 20 years ago and only broke when the builder tripped over the open door and bent it. Everything always spotless. Replaced it with a Bosch and our chunky Denby evey day service or dinner services will just not stack efficiently. I can only use every other space on the row. Next time I'll take my dishes into the shop to check;)
ps
Bosch washing machine has needed three repairs in three years (used approx 3 or 4 time week)
Bosch fridge (with the slide out trays) was so bad that I've just changed it
Bosch freezer - brilliant!Love living in a village in the country side0 -
Another Miele Vote here!
Had mine for just over 4 years and very happy with it.
It's a freestanding model with the cutlery tray at the bottom.

Hi,
Decide what features you need, be especially aware that some do not have a rinse only program. This means if you do not use dishwasher dialy its smells.

one thing I would always look out for when buying a dishwasher is the decibal level. Try and get on as low as possible as some can make a right racket! Most dishwashers these days have that information on the sticker in the shop.0

I've had a Miele in a rented house - it was fab. My hotpoint was fine but I left it when I moved. The Indesit I bought in the new house was an utter pile of pants and I had to make the shop take it away and give me a refund. The Bosch I have now is ok but one of the clickers that holds up the top shelf foldable racks broke and sometimes the dishes taste odd.
My next one will be a Miele. Look at decibels and a triple A rating.0
