Very true
The danger with sites like HPC is that no contrarian view is accepted, so you end up with groupthink. Poor fools fall for their nonsense, while the website owners rub their hands in glee profiting as the housing ladder moves further from those listening to their advice0 -

Certainly cost Rheinard at least £350k!!

The thing is house prices should have crashed, it was logical that they should. However policies from our corrupt governments have prevented this. Sadly for a lot of people who are happy about this, it probably means your children will never own till you die. It may mean grand children will be put off till it is too late, or maybe till the point that being born with a disability is much more likely.
Its all quite dysfunctional really. We can see that we cannot compete in a global market place as we are too expensive, but one of the big reasons for that is we have to demand higher wages as our mortgage and rents are so high.
I would advise anyone who can to look seriously into getting out of here, the sums just dont add up especially when you start to think of retirement.0 -

Not in my case.
I have bought a BTL at the birth of each of my children (give or take a year) - net result is that tenants will have paid off the property for them long before they graduate from Uni.
Each of the properties is giving me a nice little income stream too.
