Burning music to cd-r

Have just started doing this and having all sorts of problems. Never was very technical!!

Have managed to get some songs into `my music` and these play fine, but when I burn to cd-r and play back, it`s very bitiy-like an old record missing bits.

What am I doing wrong? am I using the wrong cd-r?

My rewritter says 48-16-48 on it if that helps.

What blank disks are you using? What are you using to burn cd-r?

If you're not using better quality media it might be worth trying. Also don't burn the disc at the highest setting. Try it at a much lower setting like 4x, see how that comes out.

I'd back up what wolfman said. I would try a different disc, and a slower burning speed.

My CDRW just wont work if I throw cheap discs into it. I always buy branded and never have any problems.
