Forget the whole credit agreement thing. The fact here is that you owe money for a period of insurance that was given to you.
Having said that, I would dispute the £25 cancellation charge as they cancelled not you.
Other than that, you don't really have a leg to stand on.
The credit agreement was for a loan to pay for an annual insurance policy. You didn't provide a guarantor and so the agreement was cancelled, this left no way to pay for the insurance so the policy was cancelled. What you are being asked to pay for is the time you had cover for (i.e. you could have claimed during this period), the set-up costs of the policy and any extras you purchased at the time.
Ignore the previous poster who told you to tell them to shove it - they are in the right and not paying will just bring you further problems. All matter is merely energy condensed to a slow vibration, we are all one consciousness experiencing itself subjectively, there is no such thing as death, life is only a dream, and we are the imagination of ourselves.0 -
Maybe its me but I don't buy the 2 statements above.
What seems to be your issue? Do you just troll on threads for the sake of it?
17/18 year old's have bad reputation due to people like you. Not all people my age are boy racers or go out and cause trouble. Some of us actually have/had/want a job and earn a living. I'm not one of those teenagers that people think negatively about. So please, if you don't have anything decent to say, leave from the thread.back on topic.......:p

Thanks for your response.
The amount that they are charging me seems to be for a month that I have not even had a policy with them. For example, my policy was cancelled by them on 18/01/2013. They seem to want to charge me for 18/01/2013 till 18/02/2013. I only held the policy between 17/12/2012 and 18/01/2013 which I had already paid for.
My question is basically, is the credit agreement void because I am only 17 and signed the policy with no guarantor?0 -

Woah there easton, the fact 17/18 year olds have bad reputation is nothing to do with me so not sure where you got that idea from.
I also didnt mention anything about boy racers causing trouble and never said you were a teenager that people think negatively about.0 -
They advised me that I would need a guarantor, I said no problem. I then forgot about this0

I was a manager at 18, well I was more a supervisor.
Anyway, although they can't enforce the credit agreement, they can ruin your credit record. I should know as this happened to me with a well know home shopping chain! But when I contacted the FOS they were going to ask for negative data to be removed due to my age, my downfall was that this company were not regulated at the time I was borrowing from them!!!!
But I know one thing, I'd never of played these games knowing what I do now, and looking at my sorry state of a credit report!!!!!!!0
