in Credit cards
Hi i have an account with freemans i asked for some details to be taken off my credit file but they refused saying that i have to close my account for the details to removed even though my accounts been clear for TWO years.
I thought i could ask for it to be removed but still keep the account?

If it's still open, it will continue to be reported.0

hmm it seems daft as its going back to 1997 it doesn't give specific dates just over a monthly period some lines say £0 and others have values in them.My Signature is MY OWN!!0

What kind of information are you asking them to remove & for what period?0

Presumably it shows the account was opened in 1997 along with details of the previous six years use.
Why is it daft? Companies don't only report bad things to credit reference agencies - they report good things too.
It indicates to potential lenders that you have other credit available to you and how you have used and managed it in the past.0
