Take your point BUT having worked in customer service I know that people expect good service (well hope for) as a matter of course - but when something bad happens they remember it for ever and it DOES colour their opinion of the whole company, rightly or wrongly.

Oh don't get me wrong I get you can feel mistreated but I think some people suffer from a bad case of knee jerk reactions. People that say "Oh you didn't deliver within the hour you said therefore I am NEVER shopping with you again"...really? You wouldn't think to try it again - I mean yeah if they let you down twice fine but surely you should give a company a second chance before calling EVERYONE there incompetent. Why not just focus on the people that actually made things go wrong rather than calling all people that COULD of helped you, useless.

As ex Zanussi and Hotpoint Senior refrigeration Engineer i have to make you aware that if these guys lowered your fridge onto an upturned plug and the plug punctured the bottom silver capped insulation then the fridge is probably not repairable. Even the smallest puncture to this silver seal will allow moisture to get in and will quickly allow ice to form under the fridge and a constant water drip from there.
You will also have cold escaping from this same puncture making the compressor / motor work non stop to keep fridge cold and shorten the motors life. :(:(:(

what does the bottom silver capped insulation look like?

Call the know how team again. I've had to use them twice and have found them fab for advice and rectifying problems. I've also found Currys to be one of the best companies for refunds/good will gestures.

I joke, but seriously, those delivery people were not employed by Dixons or Knowhow and the manufacture delivered it themselves though a courier, phone the KnowHow people again and explain what happened and how disappointed you are.
  • I had a Bosch fridge freezer delivered having purchased it from Currys online. I was promised unpacking and checking and removal of packaging as part of the sale. The delivery men put it in the middle of the kitchen and refused to unpack it saying it was delivery only before practically running out of the house. I have relevant emails stating that they would unpack etc. It was very awkward to unpack, especially as we are no spring chickens! We also had to dispose of the packaging and manhandle the fridge freezer into its space. KnowHow offered a very insulting £10voucher to spend in store as a goodwill gesture. Well I have no goodwill for that! Currys would get an additional purchase for their not having ensured the job was done properly, as no doubt anything purchased would cost a lot more than £10.00.
