Help Urgently Needed with Money Wizard Ltd

Hiya everyone Im new to this forum, but am in dire straits.

Earlier last year my wife spoke to someone on thephone about possible PPI claim, she told them the only credit card she had was a Barclaycard one which she still had. they advised her that on a no win no fee basis they could try and reclaim any mis sold PPi on the Card, as My self had had a successful claim from a different claim via HSBC my wife thought it couldnt harm to let them try.

She received paperwork to give permission for them to contact Barclaycard and signed it on the 27/05/12. In January of this year she received a letter from them stating that they could not reclaim anything back on her behalf. If she agrees with this sign the paperwork and send it back to cancel.

Now Last week we received a letter from them stating that she owes them a cacellation fee of £200 plus £40 VAT and that payment for this should be made by 1st Feb 2013 or else further charges will be added on. Now this raised ur concerns as the letter was very badly written with several spelling mistakes different fonts, and very poor quality making it look like a fraudulant attempt at conning money out of us. We rang the number on the bottom of the letter and kept getting through to voicemail. So we decided to email them telling them of our concerns. Since then they have not botheredto contact us back via Telephone.

Today we received more shabby quality paperwork from them containing the original paperwork that she signed saying they could contact Barclaycard dated 27th May 2012, also with this was their letter to Barclaycard dated 26th June 2012 and a copy of the terms and conditions stating that if we cancel after 14 days we would be charged this £200. Now the clauses in the T&C's state that should we cancel the contract we will be charged, or the same if they cancel the contract due to finding out our claim is fraudulent. BUT if they cancel the contract if they have an opinion that there is no claim available then there is no fee. Nopw the letter we received stated that they had looked into the claim and there wouldnt be a case unfortunately, So surely this is them telling us there's no where else to go with this matter, so how can we be made responsible?
Second to that they are threatening with additional charges and solicitors fees for legal action if this is not paid by the 1st Feb, now they take ages to answer back to emails and will not answer the phone or return messages left so thus making it near on impossible to actually speak to someone.
Thirdly the invoice they have sent us to pay gives their bank name which is Barclays, the account number and sort code but the reference is: PPI Services??, there is no reference number for us to enter when making the bank transfer and there is no reference number to our case at all on any of the other paperwork, so how can we pay this and ensurenthey knowits come from us??,im sure we are not the only people who have been conned into this.

Has anyone else had this problem, or could someone please give me some advice?. Ive contacted the FSA who have advised me to contact the Ministry of Justice.

  • Oh my word, I dont know what to say??, Thank you for writing that template for me, We really appreciate the time and effort put into it. I tried so desperately to get through to the Ministry of Justice yesterday and couldnt get through, speaking with a colleague at work they said if im worried and dont get a reply on here in time to pay it and keep the details so to avoid more charges then proceed to claim the money back, so I did as I was really stressed by it, and after being lucky to have a second chance at life through my Kidney transplant my doctors have warned me to not let my blood pressure get too high. Do you think I could still send them this and open a case for a refund?

Once again thank you, im really grateful of your help:A
