Just found this on Amazon.
Search for
AVG Internet Security 2011, 4 User, 2 Year Subscription (PC)
http://www.amazon.co.uk/AVG-Internet-Security-2011-Subscription/dp/B00422MRF8/ref=sr_1_5?ie=UTF8&qid=1359571491&sr=8-5
On the Amazon UK site.
It's a 2 year, 4 computer license copy of AVG, for £15.
The best deal on the AVG website seems to be £20 for 1 yr, 2 computers.
It is advertised as AVG 2011, but thinking to myself "Eh up, when they update it it'll just pick up 2013" I bought it, used the license nmbr for a nice fresh download of 2013, and I now have it, saving a fair number of bobs.
Disclaimer - there are recent review instructions of how to do it on the Amazon site, but it's a bit of a faff, don't do it if you're a bit useless.
Also, AVG ain't the best anymore, IMO, but it's fine, and I've never had a virus it's not found.
Also, free versions of these AV's are usually pretty good, and Microsoft security essentials is fine. If I can get a paid one cheap, I tend to, just makes me feel happier.

its hardly money saving buying something no matter how cheap that can easily be obtained for free0

A. Thanks for your feedback, it was terribly useful and I hope you feel better now.
B. You can't obtain the same thing free, some people see the benefit in the extra options the paid for one costs, in which case they might want to make their own minds up and not pay the full £40, or £80 over the two years.
You'll find I pointed that out.0 -

Did know I could post links. Not that I ever tried.

Agree - the free one is great, but the facilities offered by the paid version especially at a low price really make a difference.
I managed to get a 1user 1year licence on ebay (legit registration card sent via email and the post ) - worked a treat - cost £4.99, so 2years across more computers is a good deal. Still worth looking around though.
Out of interest, I've used AVG free and paid for a few years now, but PC Pro have judged Avast to be better than AVG for the first time this year.
Hope this helps0 -

Actually I was surprised at how far down the pecking order AVG is now, on the paid versions, on most sites.
It seems that Norton is one of the best - I think anyone who's used a computer dislikes them, but apparently it's well updated, not resource heavy, and easy to use now a days! How things change.
Other next seem to be Kaspersky and Bit defender.
Avast is great to clean difficult viruses. It can run in DOS, so it'll clean anything...even the stuff that others will find and not clean.0 -
According to the latest Which? tests, none of the paid ones come anywhere near Microsoft Windows Defender in performance, and that's entirely free.

I've always found Norton, and Defender for that matter, really slowed mymachine down so I've always used AVG, but then maybe thats why they are better at protecting the computer I guess?0
