IB to ESA

If you're IB reassessed as ESA WRAG material rather than ESA Support Group material can this decision have any bearing on your DLA status (if you're also claiming DLA) or is it just if you're found fit for work following a WCA can it affect your DLA entitlement?

Any decision can in principle be used.
This is one reason it's important to appeal every wrong decision, and to correct every significant error - even if it doesn't matter for the benefit in question.
In principle, a decisionmaker failing to look at an explantion of the errors in a report when deciding another benefit is an error.
One taking into account another benefits evidence gathering, and properly weighing it is not.

    It wasn't a yes/no question.
Evidence from any benefit can be used as evidence for any other benefit, as far as it applies.

    So it's a maybe.
  • There's a couple of general examples of how this is supposed to work in theory in the ESA Filework Guidelines document, eg where the info is contradictory between DLA and ESA assessments.

Think a DM is supposed to work out which assesment done was more detailed and thorough from memory. .

Whether it's how it works in practice I don't know.
