Hoburne Park Christchurch - ideas?

We've booked a short week at Hoburne Park, Christchurch starting Easter Monday. the reason for going all that way was for a visit to Paulton's Park (I know it's not just round the corner, but we can cope). I quite fancy spending the other couple of days quite locally, and was wondering if you had any ideas what would be fun. There will be the wife and I, and a three year old boy who likes all the stuff a three year old boy enjoys.

Any ideas for stuff I can do near the park for little or no cost?

This is supposed to be really fun for little ones. There is also a soft play place (Serendipity Sam's) in Christchurch if it's raining...

Otherwise if the weather is good there are lovely beaches at Highcliffe (not far from where you are), the New Forest is beautiful and there are some lovely places to walk/streams to paddle in not far from a pub called TheRising Sun which also has a children's play area outside - or did when I was last there...

Oh Highcliffe Castle is worth a visit and there are various things to see in Christchurch too.

    Have a lovely time, it's a beautiful area :-)

  • You will love Hoburne Park. You can walk to the beach in 8 mins from the site - lots to do in Highcliffe itself (parks/pubs etc). Lyndhurst is 20 mins drive away in the forest for a day out.

Paultons Park is 30 mins drive away. Christchurch is 10 mins drive away for another day out (walk around the town/then down by the quay and feed the ducks etc/play on the park).

Hoburne Park has an outstanding kids club entertainment in the evening (Sammy the Seahorse etc) so your little one will love that. There are also some activities put on during the day by the entertainments team.
