Flying with infant and hand luggage??

Options
Ok im flying on monday to Turkey, cos my son is under 2 he isn't entitiled to a meal in which case ill have to give him a baby jar on board. I will need nappies, wipes, milk, juice nappy cream and his medicine for his food allergy that he has.

Will i be allowed to take all this on board as long as i taste it? i obviously need it all and can't go without it, i have bought a jar of food and im taking a tub so that they can heat it on board, i just want advice on the do's and don'ts,

I know its different from just a normal passenger travelling as they don't need all of these things so i now the rules will be different so to say.

Any advice welcome
Baby number 2 due April 2010, were having a girl!!! :j

Been twice now to Portugal and havent had a problem with any of the above you mention.

First time we went just had to taste baby milk. Just got back from Portugal last week and didnt have to taste anything just show all items that were in the bag.

In Portugal didnt even have a problem. No tasting, no searching.

    You should be fine

i've just got back from the states and the only thing i had a problem with was the nappy cream.
they wouldn't let me take it on the flight because it was over 100ml, and it was a shop bought one instead of a prescription.
the baby food and milk/juice was fine though.
    hope this helps!!
    and enjoy your holiday!!!!!!!

Silly question, but did you have seperate bags (ie one hand luggage for you & another for food & nappies) or just one piece for both?

When I first read the title, I thought it said Traveling with infant in hand luggage. Now that is moneysaving!!:rotfl:
The common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better.

I'm cabin crew and can advise that baby stuff is fine to take on board. You may be required by security to taste the liquids in front of them (to check its not nitro glycerine) But as long as everything is in one bag thats fine. You'll need to put your own handbag in with baby stuff.

If flight is busy, be prepared for crew to be !!!!!y about heating up food. We normally heat up infant milk in a teapot, as only some longhaul (flights over 6 hours-Turkey is shorthaul) 747/767/777 and large airbus aircraft have microwaves. Of course, as these pots are ALSO used to make your tea and coffee, they are generally in demand.

The crew generally do not stop working their bums off and may be quite harrassed, so you may find it easier to take something baby can eat cold during the flight and give him hot food before and after.

Hope this helps, and have a great trip.
