Van returned without specialist badges
Hi, I recently had my van into the garage, an official mitsubishi franchised garage, as somebody had lightly gone into the rear.
Its an L200 and was a special edition Raging bull with a costly upgraded engine by there rally side Ralliart.
I got it back week last Saturday, I've only just noticed that the chrome badges have gone from the drop down rear, namely Raging Bull SE in bright chrome letters, and a Ralliart badge that was the only way of telling a potential buyer that the van has had a Ralliart upgrade.
The van is on the market and so this potentially is going to cost me a lot of money.
I'm just about to ring the garage but could do with a little help knowing my options first
Any help out there please

The badges would have been removed to do the paintwork. Their replacement has probably been overlooked.
Ring the garage and explain0 -
Apparently the badges were removed, then as the L200 they have registered only says 3 badges, they didn't know to order the above two named badges and now expect me to pay the extra £56 pounds for them to be ordered??
There bodyworks man did look at the van for some time and put together the estimate, should I really be paying for replacements myself??0 -

IMO no, it is odd that it took you 4 days to notice they werent there though, an inspection before it left the garage would have been better but if they agree they were there before and not after, again IMO they should pay if they were included in original quote0 -

because when they take the originals off they apparently always end up broken, so they just order new from Mitsubishi, but as my van is a special edition, these are not on the order sheet for an off the shelf L200.0 -

Why is it odd?? when I collected the van a week last saturday it was covered in snow for one. It actually took me 11 days to notice
They are not something that would leap out at you, its only because I was polishing the rear tailgate it suddently dawned on me they were gone!!!0 -

Because if I was having bodywork/painting done, I would check it as soon as I picked it up.
If they took the badges off and resprayed or done any panel work, how was it covered in snow when you picked it up, unless of course they did the work and then parked it up outside, I wouldnt have been impressed with that either.
Its a bit like having a painter in your house and then he covers the work up so you cant check it before paying him
None of the above really matters though, was just curious
I still think you shouldnt have to pay0 -
Another vote for not having to pay. They should have warned you before starting work if they knew that the badges were not likely to be replaced.0
