    ( 5-7th Feb is only a week away ... I'd not be surprised if they stung you for the complete month).

    Please can you define "On-cover", does this equate to the FULL balance ie, 8 months?

    My next payment is due on the 5-7th Feb :)

    Hi, as above, however most decent insurers would probably charge - total premium x 5/12 minus your payments plus around £50 cancellation fee. As long as you haven't had an accident in which case you pay the full premium.

    Another complication can be if you bought any extras such as legal cover, breakdown cover etc which are usually provided by 3rd parties and in some cases might have their own cancellation terms and conditions.

    Whatever you do don't cancel the direct debit without first ringing them to cancel or your credit file could end up trashed.
