Will writing advice

As for the comment "I would not have got myself into this position in the first place" I valued your other replies but hindsight is a great thing, one day you may fall foul of a potential con trick and I hope you realise we are all including yourself very vulnerable from tricksters, con men and bogus companies, you need to sometimes be a bit more sympathetic to people's plight and reply with helpful comments or do not reply at all.
Remember you may also need help one day......think about it.
Sorry if you took that personally. I think most of us could be taken in by the right scam if caught at the right time. At the risk of upsetting the original poster on these kind of threads (in this case, you), it's still worth pointing out why it looks dodgy because of all the other people who will read this thread.
Just think of how many other people these "will-writers" will be phoning over the coming weeks.0 -

Thanks for the reply, I understand where you are coming from and no hard feelings.
What I did get from this forum was how many people replied and so quickly, it's quite amazing the number of people offering what I can only say is good honest advice.

Firstly if you have paid any money contact them right away and tell them under the cooling off period you have decided not to proceed. Then go to local trading standards and let them investigate the company. A solicitor will charge a fair fee and you would be better advised to use the free 30 minutes consultation to see what you need. They would then advise you of the cost.
How did you pay if at all? if by credit card have the card company refund you the payment. If by cheque go to the bank and have it stopped. If by cash then you have problems

I have just looked at their website and I have a number of concerns but the main one is on their wills and trusts page. This is scaremongering. Probate can take 2 to three years. Since when. Probate can be granted in a very quick space of time. The more I read the more and more I see a salesman knocking at the door saying if you buy now you can have it for 200 pounds but if you wait it will be 2000 pounds. Run as fast as you can and report them to Trading Standards
They then say if you die without a will you WILL NEED to employ a solicitor to sort out an intestate estate. Again not true

I have also emailed Glasgow Trading Standards with my concerns

I received my solicitors bill today, having had 2 meetings with him regarding my will and inheritance issues regarding my late partner, and having had 3 lengthy letters sent, the bill including writing my new will was £150 including VAT! This solicitor has an office on the south side of the city, and in the city centre, and various other family members have also used them for wills, power of attorney etc, if you want their name feel free to PM me!RIP Iain
