Motorpoint - any discount on price?
I am thinking of buying a car from Motorpoint (Derby).
The salesman said that the price on the windscreen is the fixed price & they don't discount. At this point we were just talking in general rather than on a specific car.
Has anyone got experience of if this is the case, or have you had a discount? If so did you walk away & wait for them to call? Or other tactics?
I'll be buying something costing about £10k.
TIA

You will hear tales of people getting a discount.
Expect not to.0 -
He could be being genuine, it's all about how much profit margin there is in the car, how does it compare with other similar models in the marketplace? If it's a really good price (and the reason you are looking at his stock rather than elsewhere) then perhaps that is the price...if it's expensive compared to others and you are only there as they are local to you, then they no doubt are able to discount and are just testing you.
You will always get the best deal when you have chosen a car and are ready to buy right there and then, if the price is right of course. And that my son, is how to waft a towel!0 -
Their prices are good, they are generally at least a few hundred £ cheaper than from traditional dealers.
I don't have a part ex & don't need any finance.
Once I have decided on the car I will compare at other places before commiting to purchase but just wondered what the experience of others had been.0 -
They didn't reduce their price for me. It seemed to be take it or leave it.0

The sales staff are on a very low margin, much less than dealerships. Expect nothing. The cars fly out the door every weekend so they don't really have to discount.0
