Equity Gilt Study download links

As you might know, the Barclays Capital Equity Gilt Study is one of the most respected long term data sources for investing. The 2010 through 2012 versions are available for free download direct from Barclays:

2010
2011
2012

The section on asset returns is the most interesting long term, covering such things as UK investment returns since 1899 and how investments of various types have performed over various periods. Page 67 in the 2012 version. The charts on page 68 are of particular value, showing how returns vary year to year, while the table on page 69 shows how longer term investing increased the chance of equities beating cash to 90% after ten years or 99% after 18, for single lump sums. Regular investing uses lots of different starting dates so it's even more likely to beat cash overall.

The URLs for these have varied over time so best to download them all when they are available. If you get an updated URL or new edition URL please post them here for the education of all who are interested.
