Didn't see the point in having loads of bank accounts.

If we vote for independence then that lovely Mr Farage might stop visiting

I've had a Lloyds account for ages and just added Vantage to it. Been my main account for about five years, but I've just opened a Santander 123 account to use as my main one so I can get cashback and interest on higher balances. Going to keep the Lloyds account for my emergency fund
Also just opened an ISA with Newcastle BS as it pays 3% interest if you regularly deposit up to £500 per month and don't make a withdrawal.
And have a CapitalOne credit card.
That'll do for me now until I can get some of the better products when my defaults drop offWhat will your verse be?

Anyway, back to whether there is a point in having multiple bank accounts.
I'm going to say yes, as I have a bucket load of them
I check them once a week and for the 5 minutes it takes (about 15 for the end of month weekend), I make £100/month extra (net) than I would with a single account.
If you don't care about an extra £100/month (for example, if your Zhang Keqiang or Wu Chung-Yi), then you probably don't need multiple accounts, but still do it for tax reasons.0 -
I carry 2 Debit cards and 2 Credit Cards with me. The rest are stored at home securely.
Currently I have
4x LTSB Debit Cards & 1x Credit Card
1x Halifax Reward Debit Card
3x Nationwide Debit Cards & 1x Credit Card
2x Natwest Debit Cards & 1x Natwest World Mastercard
1x Barclays Debit Card & 1x Barclaycard Platinum
1x First Direct Debit Card
I think I have a good split of cards to use in the event of computer failure. I use Faster Payment to make required funding requirements once a month.0
