I sold a phone to him. He must have bought another phone from someone else which was faulty and has gave me the comment - 'do you think your funny selling me a brooken fone -i want my money back'!!!!. Then has subsequently emailed me to say it was meant to be for someone else!

Its annoying that I will lose a feedback just cos he cant check where he is writing what!

And have also now noticed that he has bought a fone that is described as FAULTY anyway!!! That could be where the problem lies, not sure. Hopefully I will be contacted by him soon. I have initiated a mutual withdrawal form, and replied to the neg feedback he has given me. Unfortunately I had already given him pos feedback on receipt of payment.

On another thread someone suggested this way of getting rid of negative feedback:

Send feedback reply to him including url. Then I think you get someone to report that the feedback has url contained in it and Ebay have to remove this as its against their policy to have url's included in feedback!

  • guess these things just happen.

at least you can take comfort in the fact that he is sorry for posting the feedback accidently.

i'm sure he will agree with you on the withdrawal form and all will be sorted soon.

in the meantime don't worry about one negative feedback too much, especially since you have replied to it i'm sure people will look more to the rest of your good feedback!

I had this exact same problem about a week ago, someone left a neg with the comment 'thasnk a great item'

i started the mutual withdrawel process and waited to hear from her. didnt hear anything so i called her and she hadnt received an e-mail at all from ebay. so the only conclusion i could come to is that they dont send out an email if someone requests mutual feedback removal.

I would contact the buyer and say that you have started the process and then get them to go in and do the process enter the item number and the rest should then come up for him then. i talked this lady through it on the phone. she was most apologetic.

the only other thing you could possibly do is get it removed as ebay state that if you left feedback for the wrong person they can get it permanently removed as long as they have since left the 'same' feedback for the right person.

    Hope that helps

EBay can remove feedback left accidentally for you, if the person who left it leaves exactly the same feedback for the correct member.

    Quote:

"Negative feedback intended for another member will be considered for removal only in situations where the member responsible for the mistaken posting has already placed the same feedback for the correct member. "

If they have left a neg for the correct person and it's different to what they left you, you may not be able to get it removed.

What I would suggest is that both you and your buyer contact EBay and explain to them about the error, providing links to the auctions and feedbacks concerned.

You definitely have a case for feedback removal here.

    Hi,

There is no way to remove a negative feedback. One of your choices is use mutual feedback removal. Although it would work, the negative comments are still on your forum forever!!!! ---Although doesnt count in the actual score

This is my secret way to remove negatives:

After you received a negative feedback. Then, leave that person negative feedback as well by swearing (not directly but let's say f***, something like that). Nest, if you have friends use ebay, try and ask them to report they saw a swearing feedback - include the link and ebay will remove the feedback forever and ever. However, you and your buyer will not able to leave each other feedback afterwards!!!

no swearing please ... family forum :)

This is my secret way to remove negatives:

I know someone who has had feedback removed by EBay, for the same reasons stated by the OP - they were left negative feedback by mistake by a seller. The seller left identical feedback for another buyer as well. My friend contacted the seller, who contacted EBay; feedback was removed (completely), but it took around a month.

So it is possible to do it.

There are 2 ways to get rid of feedback. Withdrawal - which leaves the comments behind and adjusts the scores. Removal - which can only be done by EBay, and completely erases the transaction. The latter is very rarely done but as mentioned it does happen under the correct circumstances.
