Child tax credit help

Hello,
My wife and I need some help with child tax credit entitlement, we receive £140 per month child tax credit, and my wife would like to go back to work for a couple of days per week. Now we would like to know if we would still be entitled to the child tax credit if she went back to work. The problem we face is that I am in the RAF and we do not live close to any built up areas so my wife would have to travel to find work, now when we take extra travel expenses (my wife does not drive) and child care costs into consideration then we would not be any better off at the end of the month if we lost the tax credit.
Thank you

As a start you can put your new working arrangements into here and see the difference
http://www.turn2us.org.uk/benefits_search.aspx
after this you can calculate travellings expenses etc and work from there.0
