i sent off a new form for tax credit last week, i got a payment of £6.54 today (£180 less than normal) i phoned up and asked why, they said it was a mistake and sorting it out. the new payment will be on 22nd may, i havent had any money since 13/03/06 so they owe me over £500, i can wait any longer as i need the money, is there any way i can get the money quicker? go somewhere to get it? thanks for your help.

As far as i am aware you can go into your local tax office and they will check with TCO about the situation and will be able to issue you a manual payment. You could give the TCO a call and ask.

Go to your local tax office. They will have the records on computer. They will issue a check to be cashed at the post office. Take ID for post office though, they normally check IDs. They will only issue one check per week so make sure it will cover expenses for the week.
