Barclaycard

Hi All,

Just a quick question, have Barclaycard got sticker when accepting application for a new credit card?

Applied on Thursday and the application was referred and just spoken to them now and they have declinded my application only wanted to 21 months 0% @ 1.45 fee.

Had a barclaycard but this was settle in July 2012 and this was run as it should be.

I have a good credit file normally get instand acceptance, earn over £40K have a mortgage for 6 years and all my other credit agreements are paid in full or up to date.

Just wondered if they have got stricker or maybe they think we can't make much money on this guy. lol!

Thanks

As we say plenty more fish in the sea...Have you checked your credit report recently? Are you over committed with debt?
I don't think they are getting stricter....I have recently been approved for my 3rd Barclaycard....

Perhaps you have too much other credit available.

Yeah maybe that's the case, Barclaycard said no and Lloyds said yes and their fee is only 0.05% more...

Just wanted to know if they had got any sticker as when I applied last time I had more debt more searches oh well, guess I can try again if needs be.

Applied for the 25 month 0% promotion online on Monday evening, application was referred. Called up on Wednesday (yesterday) and was advised its been accepted on Tuesday and my card is on it's way.

Does this mean my application was manually approved by an underwriter rather than the automated system where some accounts close down after the initial acceptance? Heard some horror stories on here about them doing the accept then reject (close account)

I'd say that's a fairly good guess. Though nothing seems to be certain with Bcard these days.

I think they just hate saying no, so they try to let people down easy. :)

As ZX81 has pointed out you never know with barclaycard and with many people on here who've spent on their BC before its arrived and then the decline after being accepted letter arrives.

Strangely enough, Barclaycard recently sent me a sticker for my mobile phone.

It's called a PayTag and if you swipe the card reader with your phone, providing that the transaction is less than £20 it registers without you having to enter a PIN.
