Buying a 2nd hand car Vs P/X

When buying a 2nd hand car, and trading in current car for P/X, is the screen price negotiable?
For example, can I negotiate the asking price?
If the car is advertised at £3500, and I wanted £1000 p/x, do I make an offer on the car before P/X? or is the asking price on the car the "fixed" price?

Price to Change is what you want

Dont get hung up on the value of your car, they may well offer some low number and offset it with a big discount, or give you great value for your car and no discount
All prices are negotiable regardless of PX or not.0
