Suggestions for Estate Agents specialising in houses with equestrian facilities?

Hi all,

I am looking for a good website dealing in houses for horsey people (stables, a bit of land etc.) in East Anglia. I have found EA Equestrian, which is good but somewhat limited amount of properties. Prices seem very reasonable though.

Does anyone have any other suggestions please?

Many thanks x

Get a copy of Horse and Hound magazine, or Countrylife, and check the classifieds. A long time since I read either, but I am sure they feature both equestrian properties for sale and EA's who handle them.

http://www.equusproperty.co.uk/ go as far as Cambridge (I have used them down South). They may well have "relations" with an agent covering Norfolk and Suffolk.

Note, you can also use Rightmove directly; select "Land" as type of property, and much of what comes up is horsey suitable properties...

I guess you could stick some keywords into Zoopla. eg stables?

Yes, but unfortunately it doesn't work very well. Just tried it on an area I know, and it didn't pull out anything like the number of properties that are currently being marketed with land. Sorry. :(

No, it certainly doesn't bring out all of them - but it is a start... and shows the agents in an area that deal with that kind of property.

One reason to find an agent, if you can, is there's a HUGE price range involved in this field (no pun intended). Around Newmarket, there are some quite promising places around the 3/4 million mark, land, stables, passable house....

And then there are a few unlisted properties. They will pass from one Sheik to another, possibly for a "nominal" seven-figure sum... There are some very tasty ones near Snailwell, but only a few find their way onto the INternet...

Zoe Napier specialises in these types of property. http://www.inthecountryside.com/ but I'm not sure if the counties they cover are where you are hoping for.

    I'd suggest 'acre(s)' and/or 'hectare(s)' might be a better prospect....

    Fair enough.:)

I don't think Ellie007 sounds like a sheikh, though. As she said "a bit of land," I'm guessing even £750k might be stretching it.

If you know horsey people well, you'll know that for many of them the stables are more important than the house. Where I used to search I'd shudder if I saw the place had stables.....:rotfl:
