Temp job made permanent - when best to tell tax credits?

Hello all, I very happily managed to get a temporary christmas part time job (have been a sahm for quite a while, dp works 40 hours+ a week), my plan was to ring tax credits when the contract ended so I could tell them the total amount earned.
However, I have done very well and have been made a permanent member of staff (which I am thrilled about). My contracted hours are 12 hours a week so I do not earn very much, certainly way wayunder the 10k difference so am I better to tell them right now and give an estimate (I do get asked to do extra hours here and there so not the same amount each pay date) or wait until renewal and give an exact figure?
Also dp has moved from nightshifts to early shifts and will be losing the night premium soon, that will equate to about £200 a month (which my job will now happily cover us for) but again am I better to tell them immediately or when we have his exact earnings for the year.
We have been very lucky in that we have never had an issue with tax credits at all so I am worried with all these changes we will mess it all up!
Very grateful for any advice, I am enclined to ring right away, dp is concerned about messing it all up and would rather provide them with exact amounts at renewal.

Think you have a month to tell them of a change of circumstance which this is. I would phone them today and let them know.0
