A genuine mistake cannot be misconduct (under SS law) - it needs to be caused by your own negligence, carelessness, deliberate action or inaction

A mistake can easily however be carelessness or negligence.
One wrong figure may in some cases be enough for dismissal, if the employee is informed of the importance of accuracy, given enough time to ensure accuracy, and the consequences are such that dismissal is proportionate.

Did you lose your licence due to alcohol related issues?

Is this a valid claim for ESA or are you using it as an "excuse"?

    Of course

Of course, but it wouldn't necessarily be misconduct in the context of labour market conditionality

My emplyer has mentioned that they 'may' give me option to hand in my notice (had unions involved).

I am not sure about my net income, i would have to ask my accountant, i do pay tax on the properties (3380 for yer 2011/2012).

What happens if i 'become' an alcoholic with depression/anxiety/bipolar as a lot of people i know i go on long term sick !!!!

Are you saying you will become an alcoholic just to claim long term sickness benefits, are you saying you will just pretend to be an alcoholic to claim benefits or are you saying you ARE an alcoholic?

If you are an alcoholic then could that be why a dangerous mistake was made at work by you? If you are just going to start drinking heavily or pretend you drink heavily just to claim sickness benefits then that's really really awful as it's fraud and one of the reasons this country is in such a mess.
