Claiming on my redundancy policy

Hello,

My whole co. has been put on notice of redundancy, ostensibly for re-organisation, but in reality for reasons of cost cutting. I have been offered the opportunity to stay on doing a job very similar to my old one, but at a significantly reduced salary.

I believe that if I want to take this up, then I have 4 weeks to decide whether or not it's for me. If it isn't, I go back into the redundancy process and get canned with four weeks money. I have been with the co. longer than 18 months.

I have paid into an unemployment insuarance PPI for many years now. If I'm made redundant, having turned down this job offer, will I have made myself voluntarily unemployed and thus lose my right to benefit?

Thanks for any help you can offer.
