Hello.
I had a bit of an issue with System restore the other day, the upshot of which is that it renamed some of my directories. I have been able to rename them bck to the way they were, all appart from one.
It's a folder within a Java project that I'm working on, the usual name should be .settings but the messed up name is (2).settings - I cannot rename it back as if I try to, Windows just tells me to rename the file, which is exactly what I'm trying to do.
I tried to rename it through Cygwin (Linux), but it complained about misplaced ()s when I tried to use mv (2).settings .settings
Anyone know how I can do this? I also cannot copy and rename the folder.
Thanks.
H.

Did you escape the ()?
mv \(2\).settings .settings0 -
Thanks, that worked a treat.
