Tuesday 29th January 2013 - what small things .....

When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.
But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free.
Examples could be hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.
So be proud of those small steps, they really are important :money:
Morning Gang,
Again, thought I’d start the thread today. Thanks to everyone who replied re CIMA or ACCA – decided I think I will do ACCA as there are more opportunities with it.....now I just need to find where I can do it.
Hello to new members, and hugs to those that need them
Today I have/will:
• Checked online banking – no change, but it’s a habit now
• LSD – as I am at work early, I may need something else for breakfast (when I am in work early, I have 2 breakfasts – one at about 3:30 am, and again about 8am)
• Updated budget spreadsheet
• Meals and snacks from storecupboard (apart from Breakfast no 2)
• Read freebie paper on the train
• Used railpass to get to work
• Read newspapers online
• Need to charge up mobile at work
• Drink plenty of water
• Decide whether or not to chase the agency re the job – its a really good role, but if they treat their candidates so poorly, how do they treat their staff (it’s a role within the agency)?
• Head down as stupidly busy (as usual)
• Need to do some college work at lunchtime and after work
Think that is about all, have a great day and sparkle!

Morning candy
I think that's a good decision on ACCA - at least it covers everything if you are unsure which route to go down. There is also a site that has all revision and lectures on it. Opentuition.com - I used this for my resits and it's all free!
List for today:- Check bank - done, all ok. I cancelled my lotto direct debit (set up while not bring mse!!) so a refund came through today. Still waiting for my £68 from topcashback
- Lunch from home - left over lasagne, lots of snacks too - eaten
I went in a shop to buy more snacks but really wanted a NSD today so ran back out!
- Go to bank on lunch and pay in coins. Was too heavy to bring them all so I will have to make two trips! Or go at weekend. - paid in £10 in coins and transferred straight to savings (only allowing my weekly spend to be in my current account. I'll sort out any extra payments to debts at the end of the month)
- Do more ACCA ethics tonight.. I think I only have 1 hour left so may finish it tonight - to do later when I'm home
- Try to get free cinema tickets for anything! Just fancy an evening out - got some through sky rewards using my mums account! So happy! It's on 12th feb so got a little wait yet
- NSD - 1st one of the week! Hope for another 2!
I'll update later xx0 -
Morning all, and thanks to candy for starting us off today.
I found a memo on my desk yesterday detailing our pay increase - a fairly healthy 5%. Our boss always gets the last laugh though. It usually applies from 1st Jan but he's delayed it by a month. Anything to save himself a couple of pounds
Right then, my small things today:- WM ran overnight on Economy 7
- Hang HC on airer
- Breakfast from stores
- Fed and watered the chickens
- Checked banking
- Checked for surveys
- Made a packed lunch - almost fell down here as I really couldn't be bothered, but then thought about the fiver I'd spend and just got on with it
- Get a lift to and from work
- Work out net pay from February
- Re-jig budget with new figures
- Finish meal plan for February
- Dinner from stores
- Take corset samples out to a club this evening

Morning all!
Not got many plans for today, apart from hopefully another NSD :j
I find it really easy to have NSD's when there is no money in the bank to spend :rotfl:
All food from stores
Check banking
Do swagbucks, onepoll, check free offers on topcashback
Hoping the postman arrives today with my new shiny buttons! Started making a button canvas for my niece for her 1st birthday, so far have got the edges glued on. Waiting on this lot of buttons so I can do the actual 'initial' in the centre.
If my buttons don't arrive then I will so a stock take of the kitchen tonight. Really REALLY need to get a list of what's there so I can reduce the food budget for next month, my only hope of staying out of the overdraft for Feb.
Have a good day y'all! Can't think of anything smart to put here...0 -
