Hiring a suit from Moss Bros?!

Basically my H2B ordered his Groomsman suits from Moss Bros in October 2012. He paid £300 which is 50% of the total cost. He went in on Saturday to be measured with his friends and it was awful. A pair of trousers very ill-fitting (because apparently the man is "too skinny"), didn't measure their inside legs and the main problem that they said they wouldn't be able to get the colour waistcoats we had chosen!? H2B came home fuming and said he would cancel as they aren't fulfilling their contract, I however feel we may not get all/any of our deposit back (it's 4 weeks until the wedding?!)

H2B called them today & has now been told they will have the waistcoats, but I am very concerned that they may still mess us around & we'll be left high & dry days before the wedding (I wish I'd read comments on here before ordering from them!! Even on their website the reviews are shocking!!)

I've spent the day worrying but have found an independent tailor 15 mins from where we live, who can fulfill what we want :j

Shall we cancel our initial order? Will we get our deposit back??

I want to wear my beautiful wedding dress everyday- it would make shopping so much more fun, I mean, people go shopping in their pyjamas these days.......
Must STOP spending!!! :)
Proud to be dealing with my debts!

Personally? It's your wedding day and you need to be happy. So order the stuff with the independent tailor, and fight for your deposit back afterwards. Tell Moss Bros in writing now that you are cancelling the contract as they are unable to fulful what was agreed (the waistcoats) and that you demand a refund of the deposit. Only focus on the waistcoats as that is a definite issue. "Fittings" can be subjective.

This will take weeks to sort out, so don't worry about it until after the big day. In the meantime, get the suits you want from the other place.

And I wish you all the happiness :)
One important thing to remember is that when you get to the end of this sentence, you'll realise it's just my sig.

I agree about the fitting, this is subjective and they are hire suits - they aren't being made to measure. (Anyway inside leg is not something that would be measured - if they are going to be measuring it would be outside leg and the drop unless you are in a 1970s sitcom). You also need to bear in mind that if someone is unusually tall, short, skinny or fat then you aren't going to get a suit to look good on them unless you have it made to measure.

Concentrate on actual problems like the waistcoat and don't worry about things that might happen. There is a lot to think about for a wedding and you should not get distracted by going off at a tangent.
