problems when typing emails .. word docs ..

difficult to explain this ... i have seen someone on here query this before but i can't remember when it was or what the answer was !!.

sometimes .. very random times ... if i'm typing emails or letters .. if i want to go back a few words and insert words/letters .. it will... but for each new letter typed it will delete the next one ahead .. like "eating up" the rest of the text.
Only way i know to stop it is to

cut& paste what i've typed .. then open new doc or email.. paste it on and continue from there.

it's happened again as i've typed this !

Press the insert key (directly right of backspace).

My sausage fingers always hit it when pressing Return or backspace.

Annoys the pants off me!
