Hi
Im just wondering what people's opinions are on my chances when my current dla runs out in april 2014 to be transferred to pip. Im currently on HRM and LRC, i know i have a while to go till the renewel but im worried sick and want to start collecting evidence i can to be used to back me up.
I have crohns disease but suffer with peri anal abcess's, i had 3 surgically drained last year alone. I have a seton drain in the left side of my anus which drains puss constantly, i have a pad over it to collect the discharge and it has to be changed about 3-4 times a day and is checked several times a week by a district nurse. On the right side a have a complicated anal fistual with quite alot of tracts, this often bleeds and has to have a dressing on which has to be changed daily. I also suffer from incontience so always have to have a chance of pants on hand with me as often i cant get to the toilet quick enough
due to everying going on down below its very painful, im under a surgeon at the hosptial, also under the hosptial for my crohns and see the district nurse several times a week. I have to use a dunlopillow to sit down and sleep in (which is a cushion in the shape of a doughnut made from memory foam as it protects my seton drain, fistula and all the nasty scars). i have to take this cushion everywhere as its just to painful without. i struggle to walk and am in pain before i even make a move, i can walk 15-20 steps on a good day but this is extemely painful. I should mention i also suffer from osteoparosis which i have in writing from the hospital after undergoing a full body bone scan, this is from long term steriod use to try and control my crohns
i currently also on ESA wrag group
thankyou for taking the time to read and would be intrested to know peoples opinions, i have read the guidelines but i hear so many diaster stories

You should be in the ESA Support group - did you not appeal that? One of the ESA descriptors for the support group is for Incontinence of either the bowel or bladder or both at least once per week and you more than meet that criterior. Having to change your clothing is also part of it too.
Suggest you try and appeal to get into Support group if you can.
Others on here will know a bit more about PIP.0 -

Hi Joe
I recommend that you go on the web to benefits and work, this costs about £19 for a yearly subscription but has guides to the forms for differnt benefits you can download including info re PIP, and takes you through things step by step.
I found this by chance after seeing welfare rights advisors who did very little actual advising and getting nowhere.
I researched it and have recently been successful at DLA tribunal and I simply could not have done it without this.
In addition see a welfare rights advisor maybe the Chrohns society has one and I advise you get letters about your difficulties from hospital, Health visitors GP, Consultant and anyone else you see highlighting your very difficult health concerns. Send these in with any form - the DWP will not use inititaive and obtain these for you.
Good luck and stay strong
