Mini Pepper Pack - Insurance Increase?
Options

My car came with a factory fit "optional climate pack", aircon, heated mirrors, heated front screen and washer jets. The reality was that if you wanted the car without this "option" you had to specify it and wait for one to be built for you as they all came with it !0

I have a Mini One Graphite with a Pepper Pack. I bought it second hand and it's now nearly 4 years old. I love it! Anyway, today I found a screw in the run-flat tyre which thankfully they repaired but they said in the not too distant future all 4 will need replacing, which I am fine about as I thought that too. I will hunt round for a good price, may even contemplate putting normal ones on.
Careful with this. If the car originally came with run flats, some companies class this as a notifiable modification too.
As has been said, Admiral and Elephant definitely have the Mini option packs listed on their 'modifications' check list. Tick the box and watch the premium rise!0 -
Hi everyone.
Thanks for all of the replies! You've all been a great help.
Finally got in touch with quotemehappy, they said anything after manufacture is seen as a 'modification' so I'm ok with the chilli pack. It was fitted in the factory.
Happy days! Thanks again, everyone!
PS it doesn't say on my V5 which option it came with. Will also stick to the run-flats after much thought :-)0 -
Glad it's sorted. To be honest, the only way I caould see it makign a difference is you now have a Mini One that looks more like a higher performance Cooper model and might be more attractive to theft. Beyond that, I couldn't see the justification for charging more but the insurance industry charges for putting a dot over the letter i so it wouldn't surprise me!
Factory fitted doesn't always mean it isn't a modification though, especially if it really does add performance. Subaru's Prodrive Performance Pack springs to mind there. Factory fitted option but a definite insurance increaser. What if there was no such thing as a rhetorical question?0
