  • If you do need stamps and have a bit of free time, perhaps you could look into this:

Good luck with the Christening :)

OP can you tell me what your budget is for food, and what sort of basic things do you have in already, eggs? onions? Olive oil? Rice? etc. I will create a menu for you within your budget :)

  • For Food and drink you can make a simple tea party and keep it simple; sandwiches, cakes, crisps etc

For decorations you can find tons of homemade ideas on Pinterest like making your own table settings and bunting etc

Invitations are easy enough to make yourself if you have a printer and buy some nice paper, then try to hand deliver where possible to to save on stamps.

For Godparent presents why not try to make them something? It might not be much on a budget but will be more appreciated because it came from you. Maybe a framed poem or something?

Why not give your little one's godparents a framed photo of each of them with their god-child? I'm sure someone can take some good snaps on the day :)
  • Hi there!

I'm planning a similar event on a smallish budget.

So far my budget looks like

    Church £30 donation
    Food and drink £30

My son's outfit is being bought with an M&S gift card he got for his birthday and I'm going to use DP vouchers I got for mine.

I've bought balloons and banners from ebay and spent £6.
I've bought disposable tableware from poundworld £8
Food wise I'm planning to do sandwiches, indian platters, pate and houmous with homemade breadsticks and some baguettes cut up, cous cous salad and pizzas. I will also make the cake.
I've asked my dad, mum and MIL to all bring food so they are making homemade pizzas, salads and pasta dishes. We're vegetarian so the food is usually cheaper

    Hope that's some use.
