Fitter came down and gave me a quote last week and took measurements amd gave me a price for the flooring. Went into the shop today to order it and pay and assistant said that he had given me a quote for cheaper flooring rather than the one I wanted however they would honor the quote so Iv saved about £40 today Bargain.SPC No. 295 - SPC No10 target £350

I can hardly believe when folk start fretting about BBD and sell by dates. My late Mum was just happy to be able to feed her brood during rationing and I can't imagine what her face would have been like if I had said I couldn't eat a sprout because it was past its sell by date
:):) I don't think I would have sat down for a month
:) mum dished up the food and you never turned your noses up at it .Her favorite saying was
" Good men died to get the food to this country, honour them by eating it" she was very concious about the merchant men in the boats at sea.Nothing was ever wasted in our house if it was edible it was eaten:) no fussiness was allowed.I remember eating tripe and almost heaving, but I daren't not eat it.And Snoek was another disgusting thing we ate, but it fed us and you just got on and ate everything on your plate.I think we all grew up with stomachs like tin cans

We have a BBD checker at work who often piles through the fridge and chucks other people's food if it's past it's date. I'm talking yoghurts with a whoops label type of thing, maybe at the most day before yesterday's date  When challenged she swears blind that they've been in there since before she was born and no-one has even looked at in in centuries...
Look on her face when one of my colleagues dived down the bin to retrieve her (sealed and perfectly good) yoghurt! :rotfl:0 -
I took a neighbour to pick up a new kitten yesterday afternoon (about a 20 mile round trip). I didn't want anything for it, as I was happy to have some time out from squabbling kids, and got to sees some really cute kittens, but when I dropped her home and saw that the new kitten was adjusting to his new home, she gave me an expensive bottle of wine, and a joint of beef from her freezer that she said was too big for her and her husband to eat so she would never use it.
Very pleased with the freebies, and the beef joint shoud do the 4 of us for 2 meals each.2016 is the year I am going to find time for me, and cherish the time I spend with my friends and family. It is also time to save - Aim £4,000 - So far this year - £230/£4,0000 -
I was working late tonight about 25 minute drive from home, and there is a CoOp near there, so popped in and managed to get 2 wedges of Brie reduced to 25p each from £1.59!!!
They are maybe a week off being runny enough for me to eat

I don't even look at the bb4 dates on things, happily buy non-perishables from AF. Not one of my brood of four have ever had food poisoning in 14 years. I admit to hiding some reduced stickers sometimes but agree with Jackieo, if you're savvy in the kitchen, there is very little chance you'll poison anyone....sometimes i would like to do it to the other half, but fail miserably!I will save my tesco £1 savings stamps this year! .......so far = £50 (full card#1)
Card #2 £6. I will not be skint at Chistmas this year!
Total £560 -
BBD are advisory, I never worry about them, But when it comes to use by dates I do take notice especially if its raw poultry, if red meat or cheese or vegetables I never worry - use the sniff test!! like wise with fish,
and if its eggs I do the float test!
