  • thank you for the replies.

Ive not heard back form her since I replied to her original email so we'll see! I have no intention of refunding her as I agree - she may have taken parts to fix another car!

If the car's not working, it's very unlikely she'll be able to do a 200 mile round trip to hassle you! :-)
  • Im sure there are some people with kryptonite in their pockets that makes a reliable car suddenly start to go wrong once they have purchased it.

    Hi,

I'm wondering where I stand on this one. I sold my car 10 days ago, in good faith. I had just put it through a new 12 months MOT so know that it was mechanically sound when I sold it.

Just a note - an MOT doesn't mean the car is mechanically sound, it just means it passed a test that looks at a few safety features.

An MOT isn't the same as servicing the car or making sure it is running properly. Always worth making sure you do the servicing as well. Don't rely on the MOT to pick up faults.

As long as you are happy that you revealed any other faults or didn't advertise the car as being free of issues (like leaking sunroof) then you should be fine. Unfortunate for the buyer but nothing you can do.
What if there was no such thing as a rhetorical question?
