Voluntary rendundancy

Hello
I have just applied for voluntary redundancy and my contract terminates on March 31st , when I will have completed 13 years & 11 months continuous service for my employer. They have offered me a figure for 13 years and refuse to cover the 11 months of the last year .Do I have any rights in relation to this .I am also on 3 months notice which will take me into 14 years service, is this relevant or is the notice period considered separate ?

Any advice you may have would be greatly appreciated.

Assuming they are offering you more than statutory redundancy then, subject to anything in your contract/staff handbook/custom & practice, they can pretty much offer what the like under whatever criteria they like (eg only count full years of servce)

For statutory redunancy the relevent date is the termination date OR later if statutory notice from the date of notice goes beyond this.
(statutory notice is capped at 12 weeks for 12 years service at time of notice)

You could try this argument for Service related termination payments.
