I have an investment which is showing a gain of 91% and looks like it's still rising. When would be a good time to sell and what should the proceeds be invested in?

i'd never short that ... always consider: who produces the index? :)

Sell when it does not look like it's still rising; and invest in something that looks like it's rising

...if you are better than average at calling the changes...

otherwise, toss a coin and sell on tails

Why sell when it dips? People normally buy things when the price dips.

From the data on the net I dont think it has increased by 91% recently which is I guess what most people assumed you meant. Perhaps 91% since you bought it 15 years ago, but that's only 4% annually. Europe has done well over the past few weeks since the Greek and Spain crises settled down but of course did badly prior to then

Looking at the statistics it really has been below average in its sector. So, if you want to invest in Europe there are better options. However I suggest you look at your overall investments and see how you want to balance them.
