Kindle HELP

Ok, a friend has bought a Kindle Fire and is asking me for help as they are not very computer savy, I am not that great but don't tell her!
So I have plugged it into my Macbook and nothing shows!
I want to set the email so that her password has to be entered every time, at the moment it opens as soon as you click on @ but the settings do not say how to stop the password being saved.
Next, how do I put books from my Macbook onto it? I have no problems with my Kobo but this has me baffled.

Not a kindle user myself so could be wrong but going what you do with the N7 you download (once signed in and connected via wifi) the books using the Kindle app, can you not do the same with the Kindle.

Mac: Mac users with either a Kindle Fire 2nd Generation or Kindle Fire HD will need to install the free Android File Transfer app to complete USB transfers. Go to File Transfer App in your computer browser and follow the onscreen instructions to download.
