Parking eye/ Aldi - for the nervous!

I recently received a fake ticket from PE for parking in Aldi. At the time, I had no idea that it was a scam. I thought I had grounds for appeal though and in researching, came across this excellent part of e forum. Thanks to all for your advice.

I did pick up from someone's post that they had posted about a similar incident on the Aldi Facebook page and been referred to customer services. I did the same as I preferred the fake charge to be cancelled rather than having to receive all their letters.

Customer services contacted me with a few hours and although they insisted that the charge was valid, they cancelled the invoice and I have just had confirmation from PE.

I know is is cheating a bit as we don't need to pay their invoice at all, but it may be a "nicer" way of doing it, for those who want a stress free time. I also hope that if Aldi get a lot of complaints like this, they may reconsider their approach.

I have had 4 letters today from PE (you need to send evidence, you have sent evidence, your evidence is not acceptable, we've cancelled your ticket), so hopefully that cost them a bit......

a nicer way of doing it???? the best way is,,, a)simply ignore and b)tell the aldi store manager, like i did that i will be taking my custom elswhere untill you get rid of these clowns,i also informed him that i would tell fellow shoppers, he just basically laughed at me, but my parting shot was, when your takings drop the job centre will be pleased to see you, alas, he is no longer store manager, probably got a job with parking spy in his ex car park,.

Loved reading about all that wasted p&p by PE! :T

And putting the details on Facebook is actually a good tip. The Supermarkets will soon get fed up if enough complaints come in - and Facebook ones are public, they can't keep them quiet like they can individual complaint emails & letters.

Enough complaints and they will act in the end. I am sure of it. One of the Supermarkets will break ranks and do their own user-friendly car park overseeing.

We shouldn't be looking for "nicer ways" to upset PPC's. The nastier the better, I say.
I can afford anything that I want.
Just so long as I don't want much.

Oh, sorry, I didn't mean nicer for them at all! I meant nicer for the fake invoice receiver (e.g. Me). Lots of people get nervous or stressed when nasty post arrives and they may give in and pay. I'm just thinking of any approach that helps the recipient ensure that no money goes to these cowboys. I'm talking to as any people as poss in their car parks too, pointing them to this site.

Just received a PE invoice for some contravention or other in a contract space I pay for.

I have no intention of contacting PE, my contact will be with the company who own the car park reminding them they receive about £25,000 a year income from contract parking from myself and colleagues and I'm in a position to remove this car park from our preferred suppliers list.
  • I received a ticket today saying i had spent 1hr 41 mins in their car park and the maximum allowed time was 1hr 30 mins...

They said i had to pay £70 (reduced to £40 if paid within the first 2 weeks)...

I emptied my green wheelie bin upside down in my back garden and found the 12 pieces of my receipt that i had torn up...

I sellotaped them back together and went to Aldi's ready for causing a scene... There was no need, the manager said no problem and took a copy of both the PE invoice and Aldi receipt and said it will be cancelled tomorrow...

I spent £88 in their store and it could be seen i was a genuine customer and not someone abusing the car park...

Aldi employ them to monitor their car park, so Aldi can instruct them to cancel their ticket! :)

I'd like to be picky here if I may !

You went to Aldi because you didn't want all the letters. They "cancelled" the charge but you still got the letters ? Hardly a roaring success was it ?

Why on earth do you feel any need to be nice to fraudulent scammers like PE?
