John Lewis iPads

Hi All,
John Lewis are currently advertising the iPad with Retina display 32Gb Wi-fi and Cellular with 2 year warranty for £519. That around £60 less than Apple's RRP plus the extra 12mths warranty.
Trouble is even though their website says there is more than 10 in stock I called up customer service to place an order and they told me the web site is out of date and there are no iPads to be had anywhere in any of their stores or online!!
As far as I am aware it is illegal to offer a product at lower than normal price for sale and claim it is in stock when in reality there is no way at all of getting that product at that price.
Anyone else managed to get the above iPad for this price from John Lewis??

But they are not making you pay more, they are saying there are no Ipads at all, that's different surely?
I am not sure it is actually illegal but maybe someone else will know the answer to that.0 -
Is it this new retina display iPad that was unveiled with iPhone 5 or iPad 3?0

OP - did you ring the website or your local branch's customer services? They hold different stock levels and one can't view or access the stock of the other.0

To find out what stores have stock of the iPad you are looking for phone your local branch, this gets you through to one of their contact centres, they have access to information on stock levels in ALL branches and the website. If you want to know know if a particular store has stock and can reserve one they will request customer services from the store to call you back within 2 hours. If you are going into a store to get one I would recommend reserving one if they are selling so quickly so you don't have a wasted journey but as far as I know they can send out orders from the store too. I'm not sure if the website has the same information as the contact centres.0
