How did you manage that? The first screen asks you to confirm "I do not have a current account with Bank of Scotland. " ? Is there another way?I applied online yesterday for a 2nd account. It appeared online today, but just Classic (without Vantage). Online banking would let me upgrade to Silver, but not add Vantage
Then again, if it only opens a standard account, it would be pretty useless anyway. Probably easier to just phone them as has already been stated, but I really don't want the 20 minutes of "We have classic, silver, gold and platinum, that costs are... the benefits are... which would you like?", "Would you like control on that account for just £10 per month? blah blah We will now perform a credit search which will be recorded and may affect future applications for credit, blah blah". Just let me open the account I want!0 -

Yes there is
Log in to online banking and on the right hand side there is a series of options for opening other products. I applied for my 2nd Classic account through the current accounts option. Then again, if it only opens a standard account, it would be pretty useless anyway. To be perfectly honest, I'm willing to listen to 20 odd minutes of spiel if it gets me 2 additional Classic accounts with Vantage, and ability to stash another £10k @ 3%.
There was no attempt whatsoever to sell me any other products and both appeared online this morning ready to fund, which I've now done

I tried to open my 2nd BoS Vantage account and was told "Are you going to pay your bills from this account?" and when I said "No", I was told "We can only open an account if you will be using it to pay bills from. We can not open an account for savings.".Easiest way to open further BOS Vantage accounts is by phone.
I asked them to point this out in the T&Cs, but they couldn't.
I don't want to lie on a probably recorded phone call to open an account.
I'm now wondering if I should wait a while, phone back, ask them the same question, and possibly raise a complaint?0 -

Oh dear
Yet another case of call centre staff making things up!
As I said earlier, I opened my 2nd BOS Classic online but when it appeared, I wasn't able to add Vantage. 1st call centre adviser suggested I needed to fund the account before adding Vantage. I thought this sounded reasonable so accepted it.
When I asked about a 3rd account she had to put me through to another adviser. I repeated what I'd been told about adding Vantage, to 2nd call centre adviser, who said 'rubbish' and added it immediately. I also asked about 3rd account. He asked whether I needed a 3rd current account.
Being an honest person
I said I didn't NEED, but would like a 3rd account, mainly for saving. He asked if I wanted to switch my 'other' current account and I declined. After the rest of the spiel about T&C, with emphasis on funding the account with £1000 every month from my income , but with attempt to sell anything else, he opened a 3rd account for me.
Both 2 & 3 appeared online, with Vantage on Friday morning and were full by Friday evening
I'd give it another try. Good luck!0
